Although it is 7 km from the beach it is a superb location with beautiful sea views, large clean pool. We had impeccable support from the lady. Villa is equipped with everything needed for a family. Outside by the pool there is a terrace with table and barbecue where you can spend the afternoon in peace. Worth the 10+ and we will be back with great pleasure.

Communication with the host was amazing. They woke up super early to make us our room service breakfast since we were leaving at 6AM. Rooms were comfortable and had great AC.

Close enough to see,hear and smell the sea - great views from sea view rooms- Very clean, very attentive and helpful staff. Owner works as hard as his staff- run like a family business which made us feel like family. Breakfast was fresh and healthy. In the evening the Fish menu were amazing. View from Roof top restaurant was breathtaking! 50% ask on the cost for fish meals and you pay for drinks outside of breakfast even if you’re full board. I usually go full board at no extra cost so this was new to me. When I mentioned this we got complimentary drinks on the first night and only paid for fish once (out of 4 fish meals altogether) - another plus as Hotel owner is open to discussion and happy to accommodate. Be sure to check the Ts&Cs if you decide to go full board.

Amazing views and a really nice pool also there’s a restaurant owned by them right across the road that has everything you need. Has spacious rooms and bathrooms and is also 15 minutes away from one of the most beautiful and famous lakes in Europe its absolutely stunning would highly recommend also really good price

Very nice place right next to the beautiful beach and beach bar. Very, very clean rooms. Great and helpful staff. We certainly recommend it! The breakfast was also good, but a bit repetitive so next time we would take the room without the beach bar breakfast (in any case you can buy it on the spot, if you change your mind).

    Kournas is a beautiful mountain village.

    Kournas is a beautiful mountain village. The views are fabulous of the mountains and sea. There is a lovely pottery shop and a few tavernas and everyone was friendly. However, you need a car to be able to get about.

    Kournas is quiet, there are few small resorts but no night life. Mary Beach Hotel has a DJ every Wed and Sat with decent music, most ppl in their 20s. I would recommend next town Rethymno that has everything!

    Kournas is a traditional village near Kournas Lake.

    Kournas is a traditional village near Kournas Lake. It is ideally situated to visit Chania and Rethymon. A short drive to the beach and supermarkets and numerous tavernas. Very scenic and an ideal location for a family getaway.

    Great place to chill with the mountain and lake.

    Great place to chill with the mountain and lake. Many tavernas to choose from. They are all decent with good quality food. You can go for a swim in the lake or take a pedal boat ride. Many nice gift/souvenir shops near the lake
