Almirida has not changed much in the last 20 years. Some great Tavernas right on the beach and the beach itself is sheltered and safe for swimming. Although on some occasions it can get a bit windy. Almyrida is a really small and quiet village. No crowds of tourists and no loud bars. Just a beautiful sea, a peaceful main street, and very tasty taverns and restaurants (Psaros was the best). The location of the villa was perfect, uphill from the town, which made it a peaceful, relaxing holiday spot. There are plenty of tavernas a short walk downhill - perfect for an evening meal followed by viewing the stars from the balcony on our return. Elena and Nikos are lovely, they checked in with me to see if I needed anything and made sure I was OK, as a first time solo traveller this was really appreciated. Almyrida is a beautiful village with traditional tavernas on the beachfront, serving delicious food. Francoise's cafe was a favourite for breakfast.
