    Some of Yeovil is attractive (church area) but the rest is fairly run down. Very noisy nightclub near where we were on Saturday night until 4am…… Tambourino very nice Italian good. Very popular so Definately book. The Ilchester Arms in Ilchester very nice Sunday lunch. Yeovil is great base for visiting Fleet Air Arm and Haynes Motor museum or Sherborne.

    Swallow field is in a rural area quite nr Yeovil Not in Yeovil .. booking . Com has not placed the the venue in the correct geographical place . This gives an incorrect impression The actual site is wonderful miles of unspoilt countryside , farms and rural walks , brilliant for a place to bring dogs . Crewkerne is the nearest small town 15 miles away so Yeovil was not visited !

    I didn’t spend much time in Yeovil just a quick walk around the town. It is the same as any other town, the same shops etc. I have nothing bad to say about it. My visits were outside of the town, Barrongton Court and Montecute House

    Yeovil is a lovely town but if I stay again it will have to be in the centre, ie: Premier Inn because the late night taxi service is not great and it is very hilly and tiring if you have to walk to or from one of the many hotels situated around the ring-road

    Beautiful area - with a nice rail trail walk; lake; water way Lovely street of shops; another street was closed down for works. Lots of activities and historic buildings in area; and central to other historic areas.

    There is a really excellent country park just next to the...

    There is a really excellent country park just next to the town. The town is quite small so easy to walk around. The station (Yeovil Junction) has a lovely coffee shop with home made sandwiches. Transport from the station is poor after the last bus and don't try walking into the town as the road is very narrow with no footpaths and no verges.

    We loved this genuine, value-for-money country hotel in a lovely quiet scenic part of Somerset. The new manager was very kind and helpful. The meals and the drinks were excellent. There were some lovely little walks you could do around the village to while away the afternoon. We visited the nearby church and were welcomed in to look around. The whole vibe was old-world and authentic and really made us feel we had experienced a slice of old-fashioned country England. The breakfast was a continental type one but excellent, tasty and healthy.

    I have stayed at Lanes a few times. Different Rooms each time and happy each time. For Hotels around the Yeovil Area Lanes is the best for sure. I would and do recommend it. The staff are fantastic, very friendly and chatty.

    Lovely big room - fresh and clean. Breakfast was great too. Staff were helpful and attentive to ensure the stay was as pleasing as possible:) Location to the town centre is excellent - just a minute or so to walk.
