    All is good in Devon and Cornwall to suit many tastes providing the weather is good, like anywhere. As the area gets very crowded at the peak holiday times, expect many delays if driving to popular spots, plus expect many very narrow roads to those areas and respect the farmers who are working with now large machinery and not on holiday or site seeing !!!!?.

    Only walked through the town briefly as was here for 2 night...

    Only walked through the town briefly as was here for 2 night for a friends wedding. Such pretty well kept buildings. I went for a walk up on the moors which was beautiful. The locals are super friendly!

    Compact town can get Very crowded in the summer months easy...

    Compact town can get Very crowded in the summer months easy to navigate many events during the summer months local attractions within short drive however being close Dartmoor expect occasional rain & mist Long drive from London areas consider train check for major route closures before /after arrive. Overall very pleasant market town with friendly citizens situated close Dartmoor & Plymouth

    We were en-route to the west and needed only one night and to expore locally. Everything was good for us for what we needed and would certainly use this property again if we need repeat the journey in future..

    Tavistock is a beautiful town.

    Tavistock is a beautiful town. Steeped in history with a river walk. Drakes cycle/walk trail and the infamous pannier market. There are many places to eat and lovely shops. An ideal base for exploring this wonderful part of Devon and across the Tamar river into Cornwall.

    Tavistock is a lovely old market town, that still has a market - indoors and out. There are lots of places to eat and drink to suit different pockets. We ate well at The Cornish Arms where the staff were delightful. Tavistock is a good place to stay and use as a base to go in many different directions for a variety of experiences. There are fabulous gardens to visit nearby including Wiley at Wildside and the Garden House. There’s Buckfast Abbey, Dartmoor National Park, Plymouth and so much more. If you want to travel a bit further for food there’s the Who’d have thought it and Drakes manor in nearby Buckland Monachorum.

    Stayed at Wetherspoon hotels before and will again. Great value, great location and great service. Couldn’t find any fault and happy to highly recommend. Only a few minutes walk from the Wharf, a really good music venue, and right in the town centre with easy access to shops, cafes and restaurants. Parked easily opposite entrance to unload and parked further up the street for our two night stay. Staff all really efficient and friendly. Good shower. Comfortable bed. Good soundproofing.

    The room we transferred to was excellent and the receptionist and cleaning team were very efficient in assisting our transfer. The breakfast menu provided a good selection and the food was always cooked to our requirements. The bar was well stocked catering for all our needs. The hotel location in the centre of Tavistock was excellent with good car parking facilities

    Iain and Jack were extremely welcoming and it seemed that nothing was too much trouble. The room was comfortable and the communal sitting area was very unique. A lot of history surrounds the house and it was explained to us in detail. Breakfast was delicious for an extra £10 each. We highly recommend the accommodation and wouldn't hesitate in using it again!

    Having stayed in many hotels and Airbnb, Apple Tree exceeded expectations for value for money. There are many little extras included - shower and shampoo toiletries, soft towels, a generous supply of hand and body lotion and a choice of firm or soft pillows, often a challenge even in upmarket hotels. On-demand heating and room service if you need it.
