Ate at Luigi's, just along from the cottage, excellent restaurant. As a town stuffed full of history this is the place to go. Family ties with the town go back a long way so always feel at home there. Within easy reach of many other historic sites all worth a visit. Many of the visitors guides don't do Sandwich justice. Everywhere you look within the walls, the history just shouts at you.

There are many festivals throughout the year in Sandwich including the Folk and Ale weekend & French Weekend. The Sunday of my trip there was The Party in The Cattle Market with 4 different musical acts from 12 noon to 7pm which was free to attend, with French food, BBQ food, Champagne Bar and a normal bar selling beer etc. Sandwich has so many charming buildings to see. I enjoy walking around the old town wall which is normally peaceful. For those that like Fish & Chips I would recommend Ossie's Fish & Chip shop, great food great staff. I will be back to Sandwich next year when one of the festivals is taking place.

Sandwich is a beautiful old town with lots of historic buildings well looked after. It’s best appreciated on foot. We stayed here as it was close to my cousin's home where there was a big family event over the weekend. We were lucky to find the accommodation as only booked about 10 days beforehand. We had a delicious breakfast at the Strand Street cafe.

Sandwich is a very quaint medieval English town near the Kent coast. We loved the old styled cottages which have been preserved well along with the number of independent shops on the high street. The town is a great place to walk with various heritage places around. The St Peters Church and tower is a really good place to visit offering birds eye view of Sandwich. The people of Sandwich are very polite and welcoming which makes the place even more lovable. From Sandwich you can easily access other costal towns like Deal, Ramsgate, Dover and Broadstairs. Sandwich has numerous restaurants one of them which i would like to give a shout out to is the Namaste Indian restaurant, an authentic Indian restaurant.

Even in December you can still appreciate the beautiful Medieval town that Sandwich is. The Museum is free (donation if you wish to) and the two ladies there when we visited, we very knowledgeable. Attached is the court room which was still in use to the late 1980's. Well worth seeing. You can walk out along the river (it was to wet/muddy in December) but we substituted that for a walk along the paved outer city boundary. It is clearly signposted. Sandwich still has a wide choice of places to eat. There are still individual shops but like all towns they are suffering from vacant buildings. I have visited Sandwich on a beautiful summer's day before but it was crowded. In December, this is not a problem.

The staff are outstanding! From the bar staff to the waiting staff to the gentleman who checked us in. Unfailingly friendly, helpful and just nice people. Extremely comfortable bed and wonderful room temp. Very very quiet room despite being over the bar area. Breakfast also lovely. Sandwich is very pretty and some nice walks in the area. Very simple to walk through picturesque countryside and beach to Deal- lots of dining choices- and to take the train back to Sandwich. Hourly trains.

Loved the amount of space (only two of us). Very quiet location apart from a lovely chirping moorhen family in the nearby stream. Easy access to shops, restaurants and pubs. Public transport was great, we left the car and used buses and trains which were close by and reliable. Sandwich is a lovely old town and all the people we met were lovely too.

This hotel was ideal for travelling around the south and east of Kent. The breakfast was a combination of cereals and cooked dishes, they also could prepare a vegetarian cooked breakfast which was welcome. The room was a twin, I had expected a double, but for one person this was never a problem. The staff that I met were all friendly.
