A beautiful location, one of the most picturesque in all of Scotland. If you love the film Local Hero, you'll be in heaven, but even if you haven't, the stunning views of the sea and surrounding cliffs make it a worthwhile place to visit. Also: Cullykhan Beach is only about a 25-minute walk away, and is BEAUTIFUL.

We loved everything about Pennan and surrounding area, relaxing walks along the harbour, watching the waves, cosy log fire. The road leading down to Pennan is a short one, but very steep so catches your breath a bit, but it's over in a minute same going back up, my car is small so was fine, 😬 We brought food with us, but there is a Hotel serving meals and small coastal shak selling tea and cake.

Mill Shore Cottage is on the cliffs overlooking Pennan which we preferred. Pennan is a lovely, quiet picturesque village. A bird watchers paradise at nearby Troup Head, Loch Strathbeg and Forvie nature reserves.

Pennen is a tiny village with a pub/restaurant, tea and cake stall but no shop. You really need to drive to get here as it is quite remote. It is beautiful and quiet - a superb location for a peaceful break. There is plenty to see and do in the area.

Pennan is a beautiful traditional fishing village, famous for being "Ferness" in the film Local Hero. It has various holiday cottages and a Bed and Breakfast. The BnB has a bar, but doesn't serve food, and isn't open long hours. By the harbour is a lovely wee coffee shack selling hot drinks and cakes, with a very friendly owner. Saw a brilliant wee photo gallery too, it's up a wee lane sign posted from the street. There is a village hall which has public toilets. It's well worth a visit.

Th little house is warm and cosy and right on the harbour wall in stunning Pennan. The location is fantastic and the cottage ideal for a small group. Chiara was very attentive and pleasant to deal with. People unfamiliar with the area need to know about the road down to the village - and back up again! It’s the same one and not for the faint hearted. The beds are comfy and the shower is fine( the door is a bit glitchy). Lots of games, tv worth range of platforms to access, and useful information booklet on the house and area.

Lovely place, with a cosy and authentic atmosphere. We loved our comfortable room with the best view of the seaside. Breakfast was great, with a buffet (bread, coffee, etc.) and a menu of cooked choices. We tried the porridge and Scottish breakfast, and they were delicious. The staff was very welcoming. The place is also an inn serving high-quality food at dinner, which is convenient as there are no other options to eat in Pennan.

Great place, if you want to stay in a true scottish village with excellent location. If you like the movie, the experience is even better. Monika and Roland are very nice hosts and care about their guests. We can certainly recommend to stay at the Pennan Inn
