Lovely town with great high street lots of independent shops beautiful river walks plenty pubs but only one (at the bridge) with real ale very friendly pub and fun live music on Sunday nights great places to eat especially Coltman’s deli and the chocolate school shop . Peebles is a beautiful little town set on the River Tweed. There are loads of walks and spectacular views. The birds we saw were amazing, crested gold finch and buzzards red starts and too many chiffon chaffs! We got a spacious room on the first floor. The room and bathroom are pretty basic but clean. A rich tea set welcomed us. Staff were all helpful. The restaurant has good food with massive portions for the price: the pate as starter could have been a main, the burger is huge and the selection of desserts on the board is almost unlimited.
