Absolutely outstanding hotel—far above the rest in the area!- and only 10 minutes walk to the food stadium. For half the price of other nearby options, you get rooms that are twice the quality. Spacious, clean, and beautifully done—better than many so-called premium hotels. The food? Easily 5-star. Honestly, it topped what I’ve experienced at high-end hotels in Manchester and London. We like the location, food, staff and prices. The location of the Calf’s Head is great, you are just off the A59, 5 minutes from Clitheroe, 25 minutes from Settle and an hour from the Lake District. You are made to feel at home and the food is really good using a lot of local produce.

The staff were wonderful. Extremely kind and helpful. The room was clean & the dining room and sitting areas were welcoming. We were in a downstairs room which faced the expressway Very little traffic noise though as double glazed windows. Would happily stay again, and recommend this to others as a good place to stay.

The location was perfect for this winderful small town, that had fabulous places to visit and eat. We were there on Saturday night and to hear the church bells ring on Sunday morning was very special in our beautiful surroundings. The breakfast was perfect. This is truely a gem of a place to stay, highly recommend it everyone.

We absolutely loved everything about this place from checking-in until leaving. Our dog liked it even more as he was spoiled with treats and a sausage for breakfast every morning. The room was one of the most luxurious we stayed in during our three week road trip through Spain, France and the UK and our dog had a bed, towel and bowls too. They even left a Christmas present outside our room on Christmas morning too! ;.)

    Hotel decor dated and tired. Staff were brilliant, I found the hotel room old fashioned and not that clean. The wedding was very nice and the location of the hotel is spectacular. But I was disappointed with the actual rooms.

    I visited for a family party, but I have visited the area...

    I visited for a family party, but I have visited the area many times, Clitheroe Castle is great, only 5 miles, Pendle hill with skying slopes, lovely area. Padiham is a former mill town, a little run down but very friendly

    There was nobody there to let us in. No response to email.provided. texted and called mobile number given but no response. After hanging around for a while I had to go and try to find a hotel for the night instead. Eventually found somewhere to stay. Furious. Was travelling with young daughter and to be abandoned like that was beyond unacceptable. When waiting outside house I noticed that house didn't look 'lived in' at all. Is this just a scam? I am contacting booking.com for a refund.

    The apartment was cosy and warm (heating worked well). The beds were good. The TV is huge and has Netflix. The corner shop opposite was handy and it's an easy walk into Padiham for the supermark and restaurants. Good shower.

    The hotel is set in beautiful grounds surrounded by stunning countryside. Restaurant food was excellent. We were a group of 12 and all meals arrived together. Excellent service
