Breakfast and stuff were out of this world, the best service ever. The hotel is very beautiful and authentic with the vibes of Edinburgh. Free coffee to go, free wi-fi, 1 minute away from a bus stop. There was no EU socket in the room, but the lovely receptionist happily provided us with 2 adapters and we were saved :)

FAQs about hotels in Edinburgh

A Feast for the Senses

A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.

The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.

Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.

For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.

Whether you are looking for hotels near Edinburgh Airport or accommodations in the city center, Booking.com has a great range to choose from.

Great City. The castle is a must see.

Great City. The castle is a must see. Lots of different buildings, plenty of information, and fantastic views of the city. Went on two open-topped bus trips. One around the city - would highly recommend the red bus tour. Also did the blue bus one that went past the Royal Yacht Britannia. We got off and bought tickets for the tour (you get a discount by showing your tour bus ticket). So much to see! We needed longer but had to get back for a commitment. Luckily you can go on line and use the yacht ticket for a year. Hoping to come back and spend more time on the yacht and see other great attractions.

Edinburgh is very picturesque and a such it is teaming with tourists. Hotel prices are exhorbitant; like it's Fringe Festival time, all the time. As such it's worth taking some time to find reasonably priced accomodation, preferably on a public transport route

Definitely need more than a couple of days to see all of the top attractions on the Royal Mile and the National Museum of Scotland. Make sure if are visiting more than one castle in Scotland to get the Historic Environment Scotland Explorer Pass to save time and money with entry and with parking (at some locations).

There’s many things to do so I’d really recommend following your own interests rather than following a tick box of must-see destinations. There are several bus tours which are a great way of seeing the castle, Arthur’s Seat and other highlights. We were most interested in art, so enjoyed getting another bus to Modern One and Two, and a train to the V&A at Dundee which was fantastic. We also enjoyed finding small independent places to eat which were very good.

Edinburgh is a must see. My granddaughter saw everything! We could walk everywhere once we go to the city center. We toured the Castle, Palace, Hiked Arthur's Seat, ate at Sheep Head Inn in Duddingston, Museum & Art Museum were great & free. Food was great everywhere. Bus & train system is easy to use. You must go to the Scottish Design Exchange (all local artist).

We loved Edinburgh, culturally and historically there is always something interesting to see. Good range of eating places, within easy reach of other places of interest eg highlands, Glasgow by train. Felt safe even at night. Like everywhere in the UK, it’s expensive but worth it!

Breakfast buffet was more than ample. GF options and best organised I have ever seen for guests with any food intolerances. Very practical and well organised hotel. Staff very professional and efficient. Great base for exploring Leith or for going into Edinburgh city centre. Family, couple, people on business friendly. It ticks all the boxes. Bright and airy. I like this place - the staff are really helpful and it is a comfortable, clean and affordable place to stay near to the city centre where hotel prices soar and you don't get any more for your money. Recommend the hotel for a great stay in Edinburgh, and the parking is handy even if they have put on a price on it more recently, but still affordable.
