Nice view, once we got our booking sorted. Paid for a king room with sea view and got a room with double bed a really small window,, so asked for our room to be changed to a king bed with bigger windows ( what we paid for ) and they found us a room.

Best location in a beautiful town right on the firth of Clyde. Easy to find from the ferry. Plenty of free parking a minutes walk away on the waterfront & easy walk to explore everything. My room was small but very clean and warm. Lovely staff. Beautiful views. Try Anselmo for a delicious fish&chips meal(try their haggis bites & black pudding-so good)

The cottage was outstanding. Decor was upmarket. The cottage was very clean. You have a washer/ dryer, dishwasher, everything you need for your comfort. There are two bathrooms and the whole place is pretty spaceous. The hot tub is a great way to unwind in a beautiful location. The site is well laid out, and there is a bar from Wednesday to Sunday. There is plenty to see and do around the area. The staff were lovely, too, x

    Regular ferries. Lots of catering and pubs and quirky shops. Beautiful old churches and regular activities in the Castle House museum and the Burgh Hall. Swimminig, cinema, supermarkets. Lovely nature trails, walks and climbs within walking distance of town centre.

    Dunoon has a lot of changes over the years i had spent there...

    Dunoon has a lot of changes over the years i had spent there, lots of new homes. I lived there 3.5 years was married in Glasgow and lived in Dunoon until I was reassigned back to the states. it was a good change for all but sad to see. but all good loved it.

    The weather on the first day was, shall we say, exciting. Torrential downpours which obscured any views. There was some sunny periods on my second day, and I got to see the lovely scenery in and around Dunoon.

    Ive visited before as I have friends and godchildren in the area. Don't expect the hustle and bustle of main towns, it has a very slow pace of life, shopping is limited and as I found the ferry's are not always reliable (I had been warned so had made alternative arrangments in the event that this was something that happened.). Locals are friendly and hlepful. The weather when I visited this time was scorching and it was pleasant to walk along the sea front, a great way to have a relaxing or energising walk and enjoy the scenery, whichever suits. Definitely a place to visit if you want to get away from it all and would be great for writers to escape to too.

    A tired looking little town, very few people about and not much traffic. Lovely bay and interesting views. Quite clean but shops are dated and not very touristy. We might go again…if not just for the breakfast at The St Ives Boutique Hotel!

    A stunning, traditional Scottish town situated in absolutely beautiful surroundings (we were lucky to visit during unusually great weather). Having lived abroad for several years, it was fantastic to experience Dunoon and it's scenery. The Castle Museum is worth every penny of its £4 entrance fee. We'll definitely be back!

    I had a lovely stay at Esplanade hotel from start to finish. Staff were so friendly and accommodating they always took extra time to make sure we were happy with our stay. The restaurant staff were wonderful and breakfast was great. The hotel itself is beautiful and spotless and the ideal location to get around Dunoon easily. We will definitely book there again.

    Excellent location and facilities for staff team based in the area for special meetings and events. The key merits of this hotel are always the staff, always professional welcoming and friendly.     Perfect for a weekend in Dunoon. Very friendly and helpful staff. Sea view was amazing. Good location. Obviously it’s an older, more classic seaside hotel which over time will get the refurb it needs, but the staff do a great job to make it welcoming and enjoyable. Recommend !
