i enjoy viewing architecture & art, so the old buildings whether occupied or abandoned I find interesting to check out. I was total self sufficient with my food so did not eat out locally. Birkenhead & its adjacent districts are fairly well sign posted. After requesting parking spaces, we arrived to find not just no private parking at the location but any parking on the street had to paid for, so be wary of this - there is NO parking available, if the spaces are all filled up. Also, after highlighting there was no heating, the owner said I should have called him to ask about it, which I wasn't going to do after initially calling him to explain about lack of wifi/smart TV. so I would suggest some basic instructions on where to find and how to operate the heating to be printed up and left in the kitchen, so future guests can turn it on themselves and not be cold through the night, like we were.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Where we stayed it was within easy reach of a lovely walk a long the front by the Mersey going all the way to New Brighton. It's about 2.5 miles but on a summer's evening well worth doing as there is plenty of entertainment and restaurants in New Brighton. A quiet area and a bit neglected but some beautiful architecture and some good places to visit. We enjoyed an open mic night at THE SWINGING ARM, a meal at the lovely vegan eatery JORO, and the Woodside Village stalls at the weekend. Dave and his mum were so friendly and welcoming. The room we had was very comfortable with a view over to the Liver building, as per the Hotel name. The bathroom was modern and clean with a bit shower cubicle. Tea and coffee facilities in the room was a nice touch. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order, plus cereals available to help yourself to. No joy , they had double booked the place then messaged me to say we weren't booked in until the 27th,lies as it clearly stated 26th to the 27th arriving between 8-9pm , full refund issued , NOT HAPPY terrible communication and service.
