Aberfoyle is a nice little town with a some nice (tourist) shops . We liked the sheepdog display in front of the Scottish Wool Centre best. Very informative show with different types of sheep, a sheepdog that guides some ducks along a parcours. The show lasts 30mins and is for FREE. Great food at restaurant Fairie Tree Inn. Easy walk (30mins return) to a nice waterfall and a feeding place for red squirrels and lots of birds from the Lodge Forest Visitor Centre. Excellent place for vacation beautiful landscape, sauna, swimming pool and dining wish we could have stayed longer. Tennis court needs repairs . I loved everything about The Bield.
I loved everything about The Bield. Aberfoyle is a beautiful area. We had food at The fairies Tree which was lovely. The house was perfect. A great place to stay. Aberfoyle is a fairly small town with small shops, eateries...
Aberfoyle is a fairly small town with small shops, eateries and accommodation. A must visit is the sheep and ducks outside the woollen mill. Seeing ducks being herded by a sheep dog is brilliant. The nearby Dukes Pass, and Queen Elizabeth Forest Park was brilliant for scenery, walks of all abilities, and nature. Go Ape with the zip slides etc is also available for the more adventurous. Aberfoyle is a beautiful little village.
Aberfoyle is a beautiful little village. You must visit Maggie’s Kitchen. Delicious, traditionally made sweet treats and baked goods. The wool place is really interesting and fun too. Make sure you visit the little wool hut out the front to get wool and woollen goods made from wool off the sheep just outside the door! We didn’t visit any of the cafes or pubs as we were following a specific eating plan.. but they all looked fabulous. Just a lovely part of the world.Guest review byAnnaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The accommodation (number 12) had a really useful utility room to store bikes (we fit in about 6...). We mixed dining out with cooking and a BBQ(!), the facilities really helped with this. Shaun and Kate are absolutely lovely and went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing stay. The house is beautiful, our room was perfect, hot tub was incredible and breakfast was delish.
