Good location close to the train station. Efficient check in process even at 10.00pm when I arrived. The room was clean and very welcoming. The bathroom was clean with everything you need and the shower was amazing. Breakfast in the morning was well presented with a wide choice. I was able to help myself to as much as I needed and I even topped up my coffee flask for the day ahead. Well done everybody for making my short stay a pleasant experience.

There was so much to see and do!

There was so much to see and do! The History Museum in the Bourse shopping centre was fantastic! The Cosquer Cave was wonderful. We took the boat trip to the Calanques and enjoyed it. It was easy to get around and we used buses and the Metro. The best souvenir store was "Marseille in The Box". 13 Rue Reine Elizabeth. It is opposite the Carrefore store outside The Bourse. The man who runs it has items that are made for him in Marseille and unique items that are not found in the souvenir stores on the waterfront. He also speaks English and has good information about visiting Marseille. Great restuarant: Il Trio, 29 Pl.aux Huiles. In big plaza just behind the waterfront. Delicious and large size platter at a reasonable price.

We liked the hop on hop off bus though we couldn’t get the audio to work on our phones. The MuCee is great with excellent exhibitions and a sunset cruise on a sailing boat was lovely especially if you are young and happy to swim.But it was also good for an old couple. Like us. Like a lot of French towns, it is difficult to get a sandwich type lunch and also dinner in the evening as lots of restaurants closed in the evening. There is a lot of public transport - metro, buses, trams and you can tap with your card for ticketsp

Marseille is a busy city with plenty of excellent restaurant especially in the Vieux Port area. This means that there's an incentive for them to provide good and reasonably priced food and drink. If you want top eat with a sea view, there's a premium for this - we did that during the day, but at night we went onto the back streets where there were many restaurants offering a three course menu for €26. We're a bit old for the night-life, but there's plenty about judging from the sound. Luckily our hotel had double le glazed windows so noise wasn't a problem.

Great port city with many interesting things to do n nearby towns to visit. Easy walk to old port which was fabulous with lovely sights around the busy quayside. Driving around the city makes it easy to visit several places. especially to hill tops for panoramic views of Marseille, within our two-day visit. Definitely a grand place to revisit! Î

Marseille is geographically located in a very beautiful place with a mild climate. There are many wonderful national parks and beaches nearby to visit, as well as good restaurants and cafés. However, it can feel a bit unsafe and not very clean

Notre Dame Cathedral on top of a hill is a must see. There’s a public bus 60 on which you can pay the fare with a contactless credit card. The view from the top reminded me of the view in my home city of San Francisco overlooking Alcatraz island. It is just as beautiful. Beaches are lovely and lots of restaurants. Very vibrant vieux port and La Panier.

The hotel is in a great location, across the train station. People comment that the area is unsafe but it has nothing to do with the hotel, nowhere is safe in Marseille. :) There is a Carrefour just near the hotel. It is close to the train station where airport buses depart and the town center. The reception staff is friendly and helpful. We would especially like to thank Ms. Buket who helped us a lot.

Our 2nd visit to Marseille and to Hotel Hermes! Great location in the port, staff are very friendly and we really enjoyed Alex who runs the Rooftop terrace. We don't stay here for the rooms which are basic but very comfortable we stay here for the location and the rooftop terrace.
