Quiet town, damaged by recent flooding, friendly people,...
Quiet town, damaged by recent flooding, friendly people, lovely hiking. The place is not highly developed for tourism, which is what I liked. A little bakery with excellent local specialties, a small grocery store also featuring local cheeses, a single restaurant with few customers, a pizzeria. A lot of local character and authenticity. Hiked to Saorge and Bergh Inférieure, both very interesting and beautiful. Saorge has more restaurants and shops and expats but is still much quieter and more authentic than similar towns in more accessible regions which are 100% tourist traps; Saorge still has some inhabitants.
