I didn’t actually visit Oñati this time, instead I selected...
I didn’t actually visit Oñati this time, instead I selected to go there for the hiking opportunities that offer a really nice experience. I did the “PR-GI 3006 La Senda de Urbia” and I really recommend it as a half day activity. Great views and lots of horses and other animals along the way. Another activity I’m happy to recommend is the guided tour of the Arrikrutz cave. On the town itself, I did not find all that much to see.
On the town itself, I did not find all that much to see. Besides the old university building and the town square, I found some old facades on the streets off the main square. The surroundings are the reason I will be back - the hills and the wooded areas are really nice.Guest review byAndrePortugal

Though the replacement was a very basic and outdated 1-star hotel, it was something. The hotel is old, but the room was large, as was the bathroom. The owner spoke no English but we understood each other and she was very attentive.
