The city has beautiful architecture. I really enjoyed walking in the downtown. Churches are awesome and offer great artistic designs. Pumapungo Museum, and the Museum of the Aboriginal Cultures generate an immersive historical knowledge, both are remarkable. The people is very polite. This historic city is known for its architecture and friendly people. The local food is delicious and very reasonably priced both in the markets and in the restaurants. I love this city. Its reasonably clean, and safe. There is so much to do and people are very friendly. We travelled in August, and it was a little cold for me. But I am one of those who is always cold so some may like this temperature. It rained a little almost every day. But it just added to the charm. Our hotel had a glass roof courtyard, so it was very pretty. I work remotely so it worked for me as I could adjust my time out accordingly. I would definitely recommend Cuenca to anyone. This is our third visit to Cuenca.
This is our third visit to Cuenca. We love the city and have made several friends here. The food is incredible, the people cheerful and welcoming. It's not hard to navigate, but if you don't like hills, maybe better take taxis, which are not expensive. Apartments are not (as they are in some places) outlandishly expensive - the rents run from very inexpensive to luxury-level expensive. There is plenty to do, much to see and excursions are easily arranged. If you visit here and don't come away with friends, you must've never left your room!Guest review byWilliamUnited States
