Nothing was to much trouble for the staff, fantastic sense of humour, clean and comfortable, food was out of this world, reasonable priced, wish we could have stayed longer, will be going back as soon as we can.

We had the great pleasure of visiting Engel 16 in Gutach, and from the very first moment we felt truly welcome. Astrid and Victor greeted us warmly with champagne and gave us an excellent introduction to the Black Forest area, especially the many beautiful hiking routes. They were always smiling, attentive, and genuinely kind. Victor, always smiling and polite, prepared the meals himself with the finest ingredients — and every dish was simply outstanding. Each morning, the breakfast buffet was perfectly prepared and ready for us, a wonderful way to start the day. Astrid made sure we enjoyed the perfect drinks and hospitality throughout our stay, which made us feel truly at home. All in all, Engel 16 is a beautiful and peaceful place with fantastic food and outstanding service. Thank you so much, Astrid and Victor, for this unforgettable stay! The property is in midst of the black forest and the experience is mind blowing. You have to stay to experience it. The view the tall oak trees just make this place serene. The stay and the room was also very comfortable and spacious. I would definitely recommend them. Staff extremely kind and breakfast was wonderful 👍

Amazig and quite place, beautiful views. Super friendly staff and owner. It is a family owned bussnis the owner is such a lovly woman. Great history of the hotel and great service over all. Evrything was clean, the food was great and the prices are also great. We really enjoed our stay here, will be revisiting and recommendig to friends and family. ❤❤

The forest room was an absolut delight: clean, spacious, bright, lovely decoration, great bathroom, colours... The staff was helful and assisting at any time needed. The little town of Wolfach is totally worth a visit and from the accomodation there are a few hiking routes. Despire being close to the railways, it was totally quiet at night. I cannot wait to get back for a longer time. Oh, and the parking is right opposite to the hotel!

Very traditional German hotel. Very friendly people. We could park our bicycles safely in the garage. Despite of the heat the room was very cool even without airconditioning. Very clean room and bathroom. The restaurant was great and there are some vegetarian options. The breakfast buffet was also great.

The hotel is located in a tranquil rural setting. Our room had a good sized balcony that overlooked the fields and woods to the rear of the property. It was very quiet. The room was immaculately appointed and clean. Very comfortable and modern. The shower room was very clean and well equipped. Eggs and pancakes are cooked to order at breakfast. There is a lift which is just as well as the accommodation is arranged over several floors.

This is a lovely hotel run by a nice couple who do everything to make the guests comfortable. We loved the restaurant, the breakfast (especially during the week-end - mostly local and unpackaged products), the bed, the fact of having a sofa in the room. We could also rely on the hosts for advice for activities. They speak English, too.

It starts with the road to the hotel, which winds through wonderful Schwarzwald. Then, arrived at the hotel, it's an oasis of tranquility and naturaleza!
