Ettals main, and only, attraction is the Abbey. Which is certainly impressive. You'll most likely visit Ettal for the region, as it is a great point to start your hikes and/or visit Oberammergau and Garmisch-Partenkichen. This busy hotel has the feeling of a youth hostel. Rooms are simply but practically equipped. There’s a constant coming and going of tourists. Unfortunately, I couldn’t bring me dog to breakfast. I wasn’t told that outside it is possible. Breakfast was basic. Scrambled eggs came in squared chunks, thus probably defrozen. Lots of plastic (Marmelade, Butter,…) The whole personnel is polish. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, I had just expected a Bavarian host. All in all my stay here felt like holidays off an assembly line.Guest review byKatrinGermany

One of the best views.. Rooms are traditional in overall style, yet modernized with fresh and bathrooms. Great water pressure and temperature, large balcony with seating area, fully equipped minibar - really the only thing potentially missing in the basic rooms is tea/coffee facilities.
