    Great town great beach.

    Great town great beach. Good supermarkets and friendly people in general. We met some locals through some friends and we were made to feel at home quite quickly. Nice place. Go to the Burger Window, (Google it) its in an open bar which has a few other eating stalls as well. A great curry shack too. But the burgers at Burger Window really are SUPERB. The service is quite non committal. There are few smiles and you can get put off by that. But listen, the burgers are worth the grief. Also try the crepes both savory and sweet at the little Ahora Si shop and then try the big Ahora Si restaurant further up the street. Both owned by the same family. Both very good choices. Ask for Antonio at the little Ahora Si crepe place

    Samara is a very cool, beachy surf village.

    Samara is a very cool, beachy surf village. The locals are very friendly and welcoming. There are several gorgeous beaches in very close proximity. My favs were Samara and Carillo. Roots in an incredible bakery and there are many yummy restaurants to dine at. We loved the Olas Beach Baron, Ahora (Italian), Gusto and the stone-baked pizza venue close to the beach!

    We loved Samara.

    We loved Samara. It's a small town of only about 3,000 permanent residents. We LOVED the beach. It was perfect. It was clean and safe and peaceful and there isn't anybody walking up and down trying to sell you anything. The town is small but friendly and lovely; plenty of restaurants to check out, live music to hear, ice cream treats, great Sushi in town, grocery store, cheese & sausage store, etc. We went to Limey's twice for the great food and live music:) We could live here; we didn't want to leave:)

    We like the beach at Samara because there is a reef...

    We like the beach at Samara because there is a reef protecting the bay, so it is safe to swim for everyone in the family. The beach is clean and nice sand for walking. There are a wide variety of restaurants and grocery stores for eating out or cooking in your apartment.

    Samara is wonderful.

    Samara is wonderful. It's a touristy beach town, but a very low-key one. The beach was never terribly crowded, the restaurants were never very crowded, and it was not full of obnoxious, loud partiers. Just a laid-back place full of friendly people.

    Very laid back small village.

    Very laid back small village. Tourists were very chill during my month long stay. Food at sodas and restaurants was very tasty. Do not expect resort type accomodations. A true surfer would go elsewhere but I saw many people getting their first rides here. Everything is walkable. I attended Intercultura Spanish Immersion School for 4 weeks. I hope to return for another month next year. All residentss appeared to enjoy their lives with quiet contentment.

    The Hotel Belvedere was extremely clean, the grounds are immaculate and the pool is well maintained. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The location is a short walk to restaurants, the best bakery and Playa Samara. Our room was very comfortable for our 4 night stay, the bed extremely comfortable, nice to have a bar fridge and the hot shower was nice.

    The family who run the hotel are so warm, friendly and helpful, they gave us excellent advice and help with trips, taxis and transport. The hotel was relaxing and peaceful and the room was comfortable and clean. The position was perfect, near Carillo beach which is quieter than Samara but you are within easy distance for a visit.

    Nathan was such a fantastic host - helping us in several ways (directions/dinner/breakfast/advice). The view from our room was just amazing. Breakfast was delicious too. This was the perfect place to enjoy our time Costa Rica - only wish we could have stayed longer! Best to have a 4x4 to get there.

    very beautiful, clean space :) definitly a place to feel comfortable!! Great kitchen with enough equipment to cook 🤗 Margerita was very welcoming and kind - the Communication was simple and respectful. We are hoping to get there once again, when we come back to Costa Rica :)

    A lovely villa set outside the main town with its own private pool, BBQ and outside dining area. Diego and staff were so friendly and helpful - we were greeted with welcome cocktails - and we also had the use of the facilities at their main hotel in Samara - the Kalimba.
