Sparkling Chinese Metropolis
Shenzhen is considered one of the most successful and prosperous cities in China. It is located in the Guangdong province, along the border with Hong Kong. Although 30 years ago it was a small fishing village, the creation of the first Special Economic Zone transformed the region into a bustling metropolis with almost 15 million people.
Its shiny urban landscape and cultural life include contemporary icons like the Shenzhen Library, the Concert Hall, and the Portofino complex. The districts of Futian, Luohu and Nanshan are packed with modern hotels, including some of the best 4 and 5-star accommodation in Shenzhen.

First time visiting shenzhen china. Highly impressed by the experience and such a great atmosphere in the local community. The people are friendly and welcoming. The variety of food was a highlight of the visit. There’s also plenty of great activities to do during the day or night. The Mission Hills golf facility is a must do and see, even if you don’t play golf there is so much to see and do and the gardens and variety of nature is amazing. The Shenzhen city technology center is awesome and a great place to visit for anyone interested in buying tech equipment. The Langham, Shenzhen was an excellent place to stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful in a professional manner, nothing was a problem and they made sure that the guests were healthy, happy, and safe. I would definitely recommend a visit and a stay at the Langham, Shenzhen. Make sure to stay as long as possible. As an English speaker from Australia, the language barrier was not a problem. Been first time in Shenzhen and not able to speak Chinese...
Been first time in Shenzhen and not able to speak Chinese was interesting. People were helpful, polite and patient. I was told there were all sorts of hurdles. No internet, needs VPN , no WhatsApp blah blah blah. I bought an esim from Agoda which was cheap as chips which worked brilliantly. WhatsApp worked as normal. I installed Alipay with a credit card that doesn't charge international fees before travelling. Alipay pays for everything. Brilliant. It had Didi for transport. Brillant. I had WeChat installed but not able to read Chinese it was not completely helpful unless I ask the restaurant staff to help. I installed Amap which is to replace Google map and it was very accurate.
