Take a Fresh Look at Zurich

As the financial capital of Switzerland and headquarters of several large companies including FIFA, there’s a good chance that if you’re in Zurich you’re here on business. But that doesn’t mean this city doesn’t have a playful side.

Known for its cleanliness and fresh air, it comes as no surprise that the luxurious ski resorts of the Alps are within an easy distance of both the city and Zurich Airport, which is only a 12 minute drive from the city centre.

    Fred's Hotel was next to the railway station and opposite...

    Fred's Hotel was next to the railway station and opposite the bus station. This enabled us to travel to Zurich by train and walk to the hotel. Several restaurants are also conveniently located in this area. The close proximity of the bus station enabled us to participate in 2 excellent sight seeing tours without any hassles. Zurich is an elegant and cultural city surrounded by high mountains and beautiful country side.

    I work in Zurich five days a week, yet I rarely get to enjoy...

    I work in Zurich five days a week, yet I rarely get to enjoy all the city has to offer. It was great to take advantage of a conveniently-located hotel so that my partner and I could enjoy seeing Tosca at the Opera House, and then meet some of my work colleagues afterward at a self-described "dive bar" just off the infamous Langstrasse. It is super easy to get around Zurich using the tram system, so you can see many things in a short amount of time. For anyone thinking of driving a car into Zurich, my advice is to use the trams instead.

    Zurich is a vibrant city.

    Zurich is a vibrant city. Love the river and promenading by it. Bad experience at check in at the airport, and having almost a nightmare with the free ride offered by booking. Next time please have clear identification on driver

    We spend quite a bit of time in Switzerland every summer and...

    We spend quite a bit of time in Switzerland every summer and Fall but concentrate most of our time on the mountains, not the cities. However, every time I’m in the cities I am reminded that I also enjoy them, too. The Old Towns, that is. They are quaint and lovely for restaurants and strolling thru historic neighborhoods and tours if you like that kind of thing.

    avoid staying in zurich more then 1 days and for better expeience and save time , stay in interlaken or luzern however most if the group tour start from zurich so one has to plan trips to titlus or other areas accordingly .

    Small and friendly hotel in a great location in a residential area of Zürich. Tram stop 50 metres away with a choice of 2 trams to the city centre. Easy to reach the railway station, old town, and the lake. Quiet room, well equipped, with a comfy bed and modern shower room. Very good breakfast buffet (= good selection and well stocked). Choice of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. There is a lift, and a beautiful courtyard garden!! No aircon, but a fan was provided in my room. I would definitely stay here again!

    Hotel Marta's location is excellent. It is in the heart of the old town and it is near the main Zurich train station which makes it extremely convenient to go to/from the airport. There are multiple dining options/restaurants nearby hence food is never a problem. They serve a decent breakfast which commensurate with the price. The staff is friendly and the welcome ice cream upon check in, gives it a special touch. Overall, it is excellent value.

    Location and the staff are excellent. Before Zurich, we stayed in 4 hotels in Switzerland and we rated all staff excellent...but one among them stood out the most, and that's Alex at Townhouse Boutique Hotel. Collins, of same hotel prepared, us (personal choice) the best Cafe Mocha we tasted in Switzerland. For the money paid, it's worth our stay.

Staff was really friendly and helpful, parking was spacious and covered, room was good size and came with aircon, euro-socket on the desk for laptops, as well was water kettle. Comfortable, with all you need essentials. Breakfast was also good.

    This is the best hotel if you are on a Budget. Since Zurich is one of the most expensive cities in the world, it is hard to find a good hotel at an affordable rate that is so close to public transportation.
