Geneva is beautiful.
Geneva is beautiful. The lake is amazing the food is glorious, though expensive, but there are bargains to be had in supermarkets. The yellow boat/ferry back and fore is an excellent way to traverse the lake and is free. Make use of the free public transport whenever possible via the free tourist pass. Most of the hotels will be able to email you with a link to the free pass system. We took a bus from the airport to the hotel and back again for our return home. Trams and buses are free. Take the scenic boat trip, well worth the time and money. Easy to get about on foot but you can walk lots if you want. Plenty of restaurants/cafes available to eat either breakfast, lunch or dinner. Geneva is conveniently located for visiting various nearby areas by train and other means of transport (Annecy 1h30, Lausanne 50 minutes, Yvoire 15 minutes by train plus 20 minutes by boat, Nyon 15 minutes, etc.). As a city, it doesn’t have a huge number of attractions, but it can serve as a great base for exploring the surrounding region.
