This hotel certainly is grand, with all modern amenities in a traditional setting. The restaurant was also excellent, and the staff friendly and helpful. It was a bonus when hiking into Arolla that Kurhaus is the first place you come to!

the location was great for getting the post bus from Sion. the staff were very friendly and spoke good English when my French was not good enough. the restaurant the food is great really nice range of traditional food and things to eat in the evening. great breakfast.

It was very clean and comfortable. The owner let me into my room even though I arrived early. There was plenty of coffee and tea available. I would definitely stay here again.

Host Doris is very kind. The accommodation is beautiful, stylish, clean—everything feels like new and is equipped exactly as you need. The kitchen has all the essential utensils and basic food items—tea, spices, oil—so you don’t have to buy them if you want to cook. We truly felt comfortable, just like at home.     Arolla is located at the end of the Val d'Hérens, a long valley leading deep into the high Alps. Arolla itself is a very small place with just a few hotels, but the villages of Les Haudères, Evolène and La Sage, a little lower down in the valley are old, very traditional mountain villages in beautiful locations. There are many hiking trails that lead from Arolla into the forests and high mountain lakes - Lac Bleu (Blue Lake) is best know and somewhat overcrowded in the summer, but a beautiful hike. And there are plenty of other less crowded trails. Experienced mountain guides are available for the many climbing opportunities above the hiking trails.

    Arolla is a gem of the Alps.

    Arolla is a gem of the Alps. Unlike its neighbour Zermatt it is unspoilt. A good variety of hikes up to alpine huts and lakes. The more adventurous can hire a guide and trek on the glaciers or climb the various peaks such as Pigne d’Arolla or L’aguile de Tsar. The Arolla forest is especially pretty and peaceful and accessible.

    Location, location, location. Wonderful spot in the middle of the mountains in Arolla, with views on the Pigne & Mont Collon. Rooms are tiny and creaky, the shower is not really fit for tall (or large) people, but the surroundings and the authenticity of this place make up for all of this. It's just a magical place.

    Unique building with bags of character. Short uphill walk to Arolla (get off at La Monta if taking the bus) Peaceful, with nice gardens and surroundings. The room itself was quiet and clean. Hot showers were welcome!

    Genuine Place with extremely friendly staff . Beautiful architecture free of modern features as television in the rooms , but with respect for the history of the old hotel . I loved it .
