Mountain and Comox Bay Scenery were great. Downtown Courtenay had many interesting shops, good coffee shops and bakery. Traffic across river can be slow at times. Adjacent to Comox is a bonus with Comox marina, beautiful sea views and Comox airport is 4 km from Courtenay. Courtenay is walkable. People were nice.
People were nice. Beaches along the coast were lovely and a good place to stay for visiting Courtenay itself and to use as a base for visiting other places. We stayed in Courtenay to try to go skiing, but unfortunately, this winter has almost no snow, but that's ok, it was our first time in town and it was nice, we had great food at Local and The Hen and Hog Cafe, I definitely recommend those two places.Guest review byRaf FriquesCanada - 10

With a stroll through the river area I again appreciated all the hard work of citizens determined to prevent flooding and also warning about personal safety near the water and on the bridge. The variety of shops is interesting. This trip we walked the river trail to the viewpoint to appreciate the Courtenay River joining the ocean. There are plenty of coffee shops, a brewery and bakery and great ethnic preferences for dinner dining. I always enjoy our visits.Guest review byCeliaCanada

So if you aren't worried about amenities or service that will make you cringe and just want a clean place to sleep then I suggest this place. I love all the extras from the makeup mirror to the fireplace not to mention an in room dishwasher and washer and dryer! Hubby is obsessed with the coffee machine downstairs, the cookies and apples are a nice bonus too! I would have booked for our entire stay on the island if I had known I would fall in love!
