We stayed at the Aqua suite (1301), which was outstanding. The view was peaceful and beautiful; the bed was comfortable, and the shower had tremendous pressure and temperature. It was great to get the bikes and ride along Beira mar... Breakfast was 10/10.

Glorious Beaches for Surfers and Socialites

Once a destination for surfers, Florianopolis now also rides the tourism wave of chic nightclubs and beach parties. Just off the coast of southern Brazil on Santa Catarina Island, Florianopolis features over 40 perfect beaches to choose from.

The island is connected to the industrialized mainland by the Hercilio Luz Bridge. On the island side, Praca XV de Novembro square is just south of the city center. Follow the tree-lined boulevard to get there with its beautiful Catedral Metropolitana.

The northern downtown area features a promenade outlining the historic streets of Beira-Mar-Norte.

The northern beach of Jurere is party central with many nightclubs catering to Brazil’s emerging wealthy class. Further south on the east coast are Joaquina, Campeche and Mole beaches, which have a more traditional surf and youth culture with many oceanfront bars scattered along the shore.

    The safest "big" city in Brazil (state capital), it has everything you may want, combines nature and beaches with city life and culture. August was a bit cold still (15C during the night, 20C during the day), and a bit rainy. But I believe September would be the perfect time to visit. November until March is where the city is crowded with tourists, and June to August is the real winter. So either April/May or September/October is ideal.

    Florianópolis is a very large city spread out all over the island. Centro is convenient but fairly boring. The north is much more fun and touristic. The south is more calm and nature oriented. The east is relaxing low traffic and great beaches for surfing and less busy than the north. The north side has more areas characteristic of rio beaches with vendors and rentals everywhere (plus crowding). The east has less of that. The food is better outside of centro

    Nice downtown, unfortunately surrounded with big highway. But the carnaval a downtown was great. Rest of the island is perfect, we visited Mosambique beach, Lagoon and had great time here. Boat trips, trails in jungle, monkeys and other local animals, perfect. In jungle are some poisonous snakes, so it's good to watch under feets ;). Very nice vacation, we will come back

    The beaches are outstanding although if you are visiting...

    The beaches are outstanding although if you are visiting during the high season, be prepared for lots of traffic on the roads and plan accordingly. The islands infrastructure is inadequate for the number of visitors, and there are traffic jams galore. But all in all, it's well worth the visit and if you are an oyster fan, you found your spot.

    Florianopolis as a whole was great.

    Florianopolis as a whole was great. Wouldnt stay in Praia Brava beach again, but others were wonderful. Antares Club Beach Hotel!! a big yes. Ponta Das Canas, Canasvieras, and Ingleses Norte, all yes. All nice beaches, restaurant's,, shops, markets etc.

    A truly magnificent apartment and lovely Rodrigo and his wife that instantly puts you into relax mode with all the love into the detail and nature it offers. It comes with a lovely condo, windows in the roof, a jacuzzi. The outside sofa with rain cover allows you to enjoy the sounds of nature independent from the weather. The condo is well connected with a 5min commute to nearby groceries, restaurants and seaside place. Definitely worth a stay for all who have the chance to come by Florianopolis!

    The staff is more than a staff: they can be your friends and fellow travellers (obrigado Bru, Gu and others!), organising the trips and hangouts in Barra da Lagoa, cooking and working together, sharing amazing stories, helping in need and building connections❤️This and a comfortable co-working area with solid desks and WiFi speed are definitely the strongest points of Nômades. I also loved the termo com café! ☕ Also, the owner is a great guy who understood my points and behaved fair.

    I did not have the opportunity to stay at the hotel on the night I reserved. This is the only hotel that I should stay in the whole trip. I did not see the rooms. However I had a breakfast in the morning. The hotel outside, garden pool leisure area was fantastic. Amazing

    I had an amazing vieuw from my window, looking down on the boardwalk and the beach. The pool is amazing aswell with an amazing vieuw. The hotel is big, know and ideal placed if your looking for good restaurants. I will book this again !
