Was there to visit a clinic so didn’t get to see much, but first impression was there was not much there.. struggled to find anything to do and also not many restaurants or cafes where you can get breakfast. Machelen has a tired and dejected air about it.
Machelen has a tired and dejected air about it. There looks like some work to improve its look may have been started but definitely work in progress. We wandered around the centre of the town and most of the shops and restaurants are closed. Found a couple of places open. The most memorable part of our stay is the constant noise from aircraft taking off from Brussels airport every few minutes drowning out any chance of conversation. I'm not surprised that restaurants are closed! It's very unlikely that we will want to stay again in Machelen.Guest review byPeterUnited Kingdom - 8.0
