There’s always something fun happening every night, from movie nights and pool tournaments to live acoustic performances, making it easy to meet fellow travelers and enjoy the community vibe. The real standout is the staff. Every one of them was incredibly welcoming and friendly, going out of their way to make sure guests feel at home. Their hospitality truly enhanced the experience, and it’s a big reason why I’d return to this hostel the next time I visit Penang. We stayed at 2 different Aayu locations while in Penang and this one was our favorite! It's a bit more quiet near Beach Street, which we enjoyed. The location was really good, near to the jetties and food markets. Wi-Fi was good, the bed was comfortable, and the room had plenty of space. There were plenty of bathrooms around, filtered water in the kitchen, and a nice area to hang out in. They also send you some great recommendations for food and sights to see upon arrival.
