We stayed at Binara for two nights and really enjoyed our time. You stay in the house of the lovely couple who have two adorable little children. Breakfast and dinner are lovingly prepared. The excavation site of Polonnaruwa is easy to reach by bike. On Binara's recommendation, we went on a boat trip with fishermen, a couple, who even had a small picnic with them. A very special experience. He also arranged pick-ups for us with a reliable driver. We really enjoyed our days at Binara and can highly recommend this family-run accommodation.

We booked two of the three rooms and had the best stay here. Uppila the owner/host picked us up from the bus stop and he made our stay really enjoyable. Making connections with his family was a highlight. His wife cooked delicious Sri Lankan meals for us both breakfast and dinner, and catered to my friend's coconut allergy. We nearly didn't book this place because it was so cheap and we thought it might be substandard, however I can say it was just delightful, large basic room with mosquito net (no mossies in my room), a large big verandah looking out onto the garden. Uppila took us on a free guided night walk around his property to look for wildlife. Uppila booked our Ayurvedic massages, drove us there and waited. He organised a tuk tuk to the ruins. He was always up for a chat and we felt cared for. He was just so kind and friendly and open and honest. I feel privileged to have met him and his family. Stay here, you will love it!

Small rooms ,Budget rooms and Standard rooms are located in main building which has 10 rooms and there is no any balcony in this rooms Owner of the place, he helped with a hack with the sockets (little secret), and give honest opinion about safari (that it's not worth it at that time of the year). Pool is unexpectedly good, we were alone on it, but it was clean, lights were romantic, all the place it just perfect. Also the dinner and the breakfast was very tasty. I am rarely this satisfied with place. Keep it up!
