Laura is insanely helpful, made some suggestions for me where to eat, gave me a bathing towel since I only packed very light (I walked the ViaVandelli), looked after me since I was traveling alone, I could use the laundrymachine and dried my hiking clothes outside, and made sure I felt good. The room itself was perfect. I had a single bed, perfect since I didn’t need to waste a bigger room and extra linen because I was alone anyway. Spotless clean, a mini fridge to keep essentials cool, and a very nice bed. The sheets had such a good perfume from the laundry-machine! She irons everything herself and it’s exactly that what makes the difference. I was offered to use the piscina for a little charge extra, that I would certainly recommend. A very spacious garden with enough furniture in case of more guests. I there met the nicest group of 4 motorcyclists and we had a good time together. 10 out of 10 would recommend for anyone looking for a solid stay for relaxation as well for anyone who doesn’t want to drive for hours to be in town or to start a nice hike.

Not enough words to describe how wonderful Giovanni was and how fantastic the entire area is. Giovanni was so kind, so knowledgeable, so helpful (and we had an unwell traveler during our stay) so accommodating! It felt like we were all old friends. And, that lesser known part of Tuscany, the mountains…spectacular. We will be back as soon as we are able.

The suite had everything to make one comfortable - a good bed, nice pillows, lots of light, temperature adjustment, clean linens, kettle, fridge, dishes, good shower, quiet, WiFi. It was right in Old Barga very close to a bus stop. The host provided anything that was missing and was readily available. The Pattiseria Lucchesi was great with lovely gluten-free pastries. I enjoyed strolling the old town, walking up to the cathedral, and walking in the valley park under the bridges. Villa Caproni had a very interesting photography exhibit and a kind, informative gallery host. It was rather cool and drizzly in Barga at the time and since Casa Cordati is a huge, old stone manor, some warm clothes were required.
