I loved my experience there. The guesthouse and Rooms are very clean, with a really nice design. The overall atmosphere of the place is amazing. The Rooms had everything that I needed, very good amenities in the place. There is a beautiful chill area with a hammock that is perfect for reading. Neighbourhood is nice, not gentrified compared to other places on the island. Amazing host that helps with everything and gives recommendations.

I extended my 3-night stay by another night here. Honestly, you could easily stay for at least a month. Tasha and Kirsten’s hospitality, the location being a paradise, the wooden house I stayed in, and its incredible comfort all made me feel right at home. The place has a plant-based kitchen, and they’re currently experimenting with new flavors. My favorite was the Scrambled Tofu Wrap! It was amazing—I practically licked my fingers. The bar’s cocktails are also excellent. You can watch the landscape from the bar through the sea and the trees! This is a perfect spot for vegan and vegetarian friends to stay at a very reasonable price while enjoying the peace of the island. There are also some small animal friends like cats and dogs around. In the evenings, there’s even a larger lizard buddy who walks along the upper beams of the bar, looking around. This place is truly wonderful—definitely visit!

Perfect stay. Great use of space, making it easy to relax on your own or connect with other travellers. I stayed in a dorm, facilities are simple but adequate, mosquito net is provided. The bar uses quiet music, if any at all, so that the surroundings can really take the first spot it deserves. Appreciated the possibility to pay with card.

This was the most amazing place I’ve been to on my travels so far. Koalama felt like home, the place really has a personality and is not just an average hostel. The atmosphere is so nice, with the music changing every day and catching exactly the vibe of the guests. Delicious drinks, fun games, perfect chill out area and most importantly absolutely amazing, likeminded people! Thanks Fred, for making me feel so welcome and creating such a wonderful place.
