This hostel is 100% recommendable! Located right in the centre of the lovely village Ballater. Reachable with the bus from Aberdeen also perfect for those coming with public transport. The hostel itself is very cosy and clean, the common area equipped with everything you need and spacious. The hosts Dominique and Daniel are very warm, welcoming and friendly, that are happy to provide you with any tips you need. We had a great time enjoying the Highland games and the stunning nature that surrounds Ballater!

Our stay at The Gordon Guest House was perfect! We got an upgrade to suite room which offered us an amazing view of the mountain in the morning. The suite room had luxurious jacuzzi and a very big bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the room was set at a cozy temperature. We felt very welcome. The breakfast was made as per choice. It was prepared by the hosts themselves. The delicious breakfast made our morning and we had a very good start of the day, enroute to starting our NC500 journey. Beth and Steve are great hosts and we had a very engaging conversation on topics such as Indian music, Scottish Highland life. We would definitely come back again if we visit Ballater. Highly recommended!

Absolutely everything, hosts went beyond expectations, it felt like a personalised stay, just amazing. Great advice on local dinner options and an a beautiful breakfast, even tried some haggis! Location, atmosphere, hosts cannot be faulted. Would love to stay again but more than one night next time.

Lovely little place with high-quality furnishings. Just a short walk from the middle of Ballater but feels quiet and peaceful. The lounge/dining room catches the late afternoon sun and has a view up to the oak woods of Craigendarroch hill. It's quite a small place (the reasonable price reflects this - it's in a 'premium' part of the Highlands) but the quality of the armchair, sofa and dining chairs would put many a grand country hotel to shame and made for a relaxing and memorable stay.

    We loved the location, the property is beautiful, comfortable and spotless. The hosts were great! Our room was bright and airy, it had everything you could possibly need!! The bed was extremely comfortable and the food fantastic! A real find! We loved it.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Celicall. We had a wedding at Mar Lodge and the location was ideal to travel to it. The room was very clean, comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. The couple were very friendly and helpful as I had forgotten my hairdryer and the landlady offered the use of one. The landlady gave us comprehensive information about the area and the restaurants. Would certainly recommend for a relaxing stay.
