Hillsdale B&B was an incredible stay. The location, the home itself, the rooms, and the breakfast were all amazing and exceeded all of our expectations. Steve and Caz were so welcoming, personally showing us into their property, guiding us to the parking, offering excellent recommendations, and preparing the perfect English breakfast in their beautiful breakfast room. As soon as the five of us settled into our rooms, we all said we wished we were staying longer! Steve and Caz thought of everything - all the amenities and necessities required and more! I couldn't give a more glowing recommendation to this bed and breakfast. If you are considering a visit to the Lake District and Ambleside - DO NOT miss this amazing stay!

Rooms were beautifully and comfortably furnished, with all amenities required for a quiet weekend away. The facilities are impeccably clean, tidy, and well maintained. It was wonderful returning to a warm room at the end of many a cold, rainy, and blustery day. Kate, the general manager, went above and beyond with ensuring we got the keys even after the reception was closed -- we were very grateful to her for that. Location is excellent, just a stone's throw from the waterfront and with excellent food options nearby.

Perfect location for a couple of mates to do multiple walls from the accomodation, including Langdale valley and Hellvelyn. 5 mins walk to Ambleside. Lovely room, shower and breakfast. And cheaper than most places, ideal!

Well everything , staff were brilliant when we rang to say we were likely to be late but dealt with it perfectly, location superb, compact with everything we could possibly need spotlessly clean , and very much value for money , would of loved to stay longer but given the chance we will be back

A fabulous location, gorgeous buildings, the room was spotless and spacious and had lovely massive windows looking out across the grounds and the lake. We asked for a specific room as it looked the most ideal for us with our dog, having seen the rooms on the website, and they sorted it no problem. Staff were really friendly and in addition to the tea, coffee and fridge we even got a little goodie bag for the pooch. Can't fault this place at all, huge thanks from me, Ben and Rune. We'll definitely come again!

Absolutely lovely location! Fantastic rooms and complimentary tea and coffee. Great facilities had a lovely bar where you could sit by the fire in the lounge. Very clean and perfect for a short stay. Staff did an amazing job dealing with the snow storm!
