Yoshiro-san is an absolute legend so friendly and kind and accomodating. First of all get the breakfast at least once I hope you get the Udon! The location is a little out of town but he is more than happy for you to get around and there is an amazing onsen 8mins walk away. I could not recommend anywhere enough really convenient for the snow monkey park and to ski at shiga kogen. Thank you so much for the amazing stay Yoshiro!

My husband and I spent a night here to experience Japanese onsen for the first time and see snow monkeys in the area. We went with a traditional Japanese style room option and had no regrets. The room was fantastic. Saying spacious would be an understatement. Very large living area, separate sit down area and balcony with beautiful view. The large entryway, washroom, separate shower with bath and separate powder room. The room has AC and we were very warm despite the snowstorm outside. We had the means to make tea in the room with a beautiful tea set and there was a coffee bar downstairs. The room also had a TV. For both meals we went with the Japanese options and the staff was very helpful and accommodating to help us and explain every dish. There was even a small guide included with each meal outlining what is being served for each course. The facilities were outstanding as well. We opted for a private onsen and it was simply magical with the snow outside. There is a swimming pool as well that my husband used. If you forgot your swimwear you could get one there for a small fee. There is a small gift shop downstairs (they accept the cards as a payment option) with local sweets and small souvenirs. The fact that you got collected from the train station with a minibus and dropped off after your stay was extremely convenient as well and we didn't need to take the local bus. We were very close to the snow monkey park. We had a fantastic stay and we couldn't ask for a better experience.

The house is beautiful with lovely flowers arrangements. The room had a nice view on the river and the onsen are very hot and relaxing. Everybody was very nice welcoming and the breakfast delicious !

The staff is lovely, the service excellent, and the food delicious. We went off-season so it was very quiet and peaceful to stroll around the little town and visit the public onsen with the yukata and shoes provided by the ryokan. The best one was the bath in the hotel though. They also offer a free shuttle service for the station and monkey park as well. We felt pampered and well taken care of at all times.

What I liked the most was being able to be in such a lovely place with such lovely hosts. The couple that owns the ryokan have been nothing but nice since before you even arrive. The dinner and breakfast were out of this world, and the onsen is the perfect touch after a day out enjoying the area. They offer to pick you up from the train station, drop you off when you check out and even take you to the Monkey Park. Thank you very much for making my stay in Yudakana so special!

An extremely comfortable ryokan with very welcoming and helpful staff. They went out of their way to make us comfortable and to assist with our travel arrangements for visiting the Snow Monkey Park We really enjoyed our stay here. Amazing ryokan just 15-20 minutes walk from Yukanada station. Right next to Shibu Onsen district with heaps of eateries around. We walked to the snow monkey park from here - it took about an hour. There is also a shuttle service. The staff were extremely helpful and kind to us. We rented the private onsen and it was worth every dollar.
