Spent a birthday weekend there with friends and couldn’t have asked for anything more. The place was immaculate and much larger than we were expecting. The owners are lovely and incredibly helpful and clearly care about their guests enjoying their stay. 10/10 would return and stay if/ when back in the Lake District!

Stayed in washhouse on previous trip wasn't at all surprised how good this was too location is fantastic quiet cul de sac but right it the heart of things will deffo return looking at the foreman's residence next joe and staff are top notch

Beautiful, neat and absolutely tidy apartment. Exceedingly conducive for my family; kids loved the toys and their room decor.. Apartment is centrally located and accessible to supermarts. Environment is serene and easy reach to city centre. Host is superb, hospitable, charitable and ensured we had a fantastic stay. Kitchen is fully equipped and heating is top-notched with very good WiFi. Excellent value for money I must admit.

Classic decor combined with modern amenities made for a great overnight stop. The room was large with a very pleasant street view, yet quiet. The shower was strong with stable water temperature. Linens were pleasantly fragrant and the bed was comfortable, making for a very restful night of sleep. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Parking was free and right outside the front door. A 5-10 minute walk towards town center provided a number of restaurants with tastes for every palate (including ours). The lodge's proprietor is one of the nicest people we've encountered during our travels. All in all, a short but enjoyable stay at a strongly recommended property.

    Great location for an overnight stay en route to Scotland. Pub, fish and chip shop and Co-op all within a few minutes walk. Small guiet village with on street parking right outside. Flat was well presented and comfortable. The bed was amazing!

    Spacious, bright, quiet, comfortable bed. Great to be able to walk to the river in minutes, and have so many facilities on the village.

    Good location in village centre, close to pub and small supermarket and also cafe and sandwich shop. Beautiful apartment with lots of light and space and a multitude of features and accessories you need when either on a one night stay or for a longer break. Everything you needed from iron to washing up liquid, towels, toileteries, pots, pans etc. Even Iron and board! Bedroom spacious and comfortable with big double bed. Bathroom light and spacious with nice walk in shower. Dining kitchen spacious and everything you need.

    A well-decorated apartment with good facilities in a pleasant location. Comfortable bed, well-equipped and spacious kitchen and a decent shower. Really enjoyed our stop-over here and would like to come again. Some pleasant walks from the property and a supermarket nearby, plus a pub, coffee shop and sandwich shop (impressive for a small village!).

    The flat was nicely decorated, comfortable and clean. The location was excellent with a cafe and pub directly opposite with a general store and an amazing butcher’s shop just down the road. Although central to the village it was very quiet.
