Thé location was amazing, the water was calm, no wind like the other side of the island. The farm animals were a great perk . The owner and staff were so welcoming. The sunset with volcano views, near the entrance to the river for kayaking. Beside a happening bar. Mango beach is great too. The toilets and showers were very clean. A magical paradise. The hut was perfectly cute right on the water front.

Rancho Tranquillo se encuentra en Moyogalpa y ofrece alojamiento con jardín y terraza frente a la playa, a 34 km de Volcán Maderas. Se ofrece wifi gratis y mostrador de información turística. I had the best time with Tony and Daniela, they were very kind, welcoming and warm. They make you feel part of their family and have so many stories to tell. Daniela makes THE BEST breakfasts (I miss them). If I go back to Ometepe I'm definitely staying with them again. The room was nice and clean and at night you can hear a symphony of crickets and other elements of nature due to being away from the city. A really nice experience. Also, there's a beach right outside the hostel where you can see the most beautiful sunsets. It's a bit far from the center of the town (a 20 min walk) which is not too bad, just something to take into consideration. If you're renting a bike like most people do it's not going to make a difference for you, but I was on foot. Fortunately, Tony was very kind and picked me up on a motorbike at the port and took me back at the end of my stay.

El Bamboo Cabins se encuentra en Balgue y ofrece alojamiento con wifi gratis, jardín con terraza y vistas al lago. We absolutely loved staying here! The pictures do not do this place justice. The cabins are carefully built, very clean, and very comfortable! They are equipped with the necessities so we could cook and make coffee. It is right on the water and we went out on the dock both nights for sunset. The cabins are perfectly tucked away so it is very peaceful.

Finca La Magia dispone de vistas a la montaña, wifi gratis y parking privado gratis. Se encuentra en Ometepe, a 5,4 km de Volcán Maderas. Hay una zona de estar y de comedor en todas las unidades. Absolutely loved staying at Finca La Magia! It's such a beautiful and quiet spot, the staff was incredibly friendly and all facilities and rooms were spot clean. We really enjoyed the outdoor showers and the pets were adorable as well

Rocks Beach se encuentra en Balgue, en la región de Ometepe, y ofrece alojamiento con wifi gratis y parking privado gratis. The location is fantastic, right on the shore of the lake and at the same time just a minute walk from the main road and restaurants in Balgue. The owner is very kind and knowledgeable too. There is a functional kitchen, two hammocks, chairs for the shore, candles for the night, and kitchenware too. Really has everything you need.

Hospedaje Bananas tiene vistas al jardín y se encuentra en Altagracia. Cuenta con restaurante, cocina compartida, bar, jardín y terraza. Hay wifi gratis en todo el alojamiento. Amazing place! Our stay was incredible. We love the bed. Highly recommended

Hostal Así es mi Tierra se encuentra en Balgue, a 12 km de Volcán Maderas, y ofrece alojamiento con jardín, parking privado gratis y terraza. We loved the relaxed vibe and how everything is set up and decorated, it's really really beautiful and we enjoyed just sitting around on our porch immensely! the location is great as it's away from the crazy hostel stuff but not too far with tons of great local places near by. Getting to all parts of the island from Balgue was ideal as well and everywhere you turn you see one of the volcanoes since you're right in between them. If you turn right from the place you get back into the main hostel area in a few minutes (on bike) and if you turn left you find really beautiful roadways and scenery and you can get away from all the "traveler" stuff. Cafe compestre is just down the street (2 min walking) where you can get a really really good cappuccino. My boyfriend also got a haircut across the street haha. The food they made us was so so so good (our favorite if we HAD to pick was probably the burritos, and they make some of the best smoothies on the island). we were also able to get our moto bike and kayaking through the family as well, and everything was a really good price and easy. On day 4 or so we found a hole in the tire which they fixed in just a couple hours and they didn't charge us which we really appreciated. There was a power outage one evening (it happens on the island from time to time) and they set us up with a candlelit dinner and we just loved that (picture below). The family who owns this are truly wonderful people and we felt really at home, possibly too at home as we were supposed to stay 5 nights and we stayed 9 or 10 😂. I usually got up early and worked a few hours in the balcony seating area with a coffee or smoothie, so can confirm working here is also no problem. For context, I was working fully online building a webpage with large files so internet needed to be really functioning well, and it was :)

Xalli Beach Hotel se encuentra en Altagracia, a pocos pasos de Playa de Santo Domingo, y ofrece alojamiento con jardín, parking privado gratis, terraza y restaurante. The location, the staff, the breakfast, the mellow beach a few steps away from the hotel room. It was all incredible:) all the staff were wonderful but special shout out to Karina at the front desk, she was seriously EXCEPTIONAL. I would trust her with my life jaja.

Hotel Restaurante Los Cocos está en Santa Cruz, a 9 min a pie de Playa de Santo Domingo, y dispone de alojamiento con jardín, parking privado gratis, salón de uso común y terraza. lo más importante siempre fue la limpieza y eso lo cumplieron a la perfección. El personal muy amable y atento .

Caballito's Mar está en Ometepe, a 3,6 km de Volcán Maderas, y dispone de alojamiento con restaurante, parking privado gratis y bar. Fantastic location, great staff and great food. A massive thanks for organising also our volcano hike!
