What an incredible stay at Riverlap homestay. I recommend everyone to come here. The location between the river and ocean is very special, with a private beach only 100 meters away. Shangu and his wife are super friendly and cooked the best food we tasted in all of India. Breakfast, snacks and different types of dinner every night, with fresh fish from the market or even caught by himself. Together with Vinu, they organised kayak trips, boat tips through the backwaters where we could see kingfishers and many other birds, and other must sees in the area. The hospitality was heartwarming and we truly felt part of their family. Thank you so much for the wonderful stay, this will stay for us forever!

Great room, loads of space with sea views. The staff went the extra mile constantly, they were friendly and made us feel welcome. We loved the open beachside restaurant and were very happy with the freshness and quality of the food.

This place is a hidden gem. We loved everything — the quiet and picturesque location, the delicious meals, the wonderful hospitality. We had so much help from John and the staff organising a private yoga session and transfers to our next destination. It was exactly what we needed after a busy few weeks of travel. We had it all to ourselves too!

Absolutely incredible location, to find a long stretch of beach nearly entirely to yourself. The environment and nature is very beautiful,calm and peaceful, but also with investigation,lots to do in the area, which our wonderful host informed us of. We took bikes out which our host lent us, and also he took us to an amazing theyyem performance. I'm very surprised more western tourists havnt discovered this area yet.

Very peaceful and quiet location away from traffic and noise, situated by a serene lake and lush trees and greenery. There’s a nice spacious kitchen with filtered water, a fridge, kettle, oven hobs and teabags etc. nice big clean bathroom. The bed was big, clean and very comfortable. The family bought a big breakfast and coffee every morning and we’re very helpful and friendly in general.

I stayed at this hidden gem (Ranshith’s homestay) and it was an unforgettable experience. The journey there was magical, with a narrow road bordered by the ocean on one side and backwaters on the other. The homestay is perfectly located right in front of a stunning, practically deserted beach. We enjoyed our meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—right by the beach, which made the experience even more special. The highlight was kayaking which the host took us in the backwaters and through the mangroves, which was an incredible adventure. The host was exceptional, personally showing us around and even taking us to the nearby bridge. The Kerala cuisine served was fantastic and always on time. The house itself was spotless and well-maintained. The hospitality we received by Ranshith was top-notch, making our stay truly memorable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful and unique retreat!
