The location was phenomenal. The veranda out side the room had a good view, was sheltered from the sun and a pleasant place to sit. The Hotel is set amongst forest and almost on the beach. The wildlife comes to you. The swimming pool has seen better days but it’s in a very special location and the capuchin monkeys regularly visit to hang out with their family. The beach is totally amazing. Manuel Antonio is only a 10 minute jaunt along the beach. This hotel is an experience in itself. Well worth a visit.

Makanda delivers everything that you might expect and possibly a little bit more. It's pure luxury and the service is sublime. The swimming pool is fantastic and we loved private the beach area. The room are very beautiful. The restaurant is outstanding.

Where to start - this was absolutely an incredible hotel / apartment to stay at during our trip to Costa Rica. Everything about it was five star. Service was incredible and very personal. Perfect location, beautiful resort, amazing breakfast. We spent 3 nights as a family of 5 with 3 young children (4, 8 and 12). We loved the location, the beach is beautiful, we walked down every morning and came back up with the transport. We loved the free jungle walk with a wonderful guide, we were super lucky and saw all the animals and the free cooking class taught us how to make empanadas. The flat is spacious and has everything a family might need. The pool is wonderful with beautiful sunsets
