I love Reggio Calabria. It's beautiful and a walk through time. Visiting the Museum is a highlight especially to see I Bronzi di Ricace. The famous statues that were discovered in the ocean in the 1970's that are almost fully intact. There are also palaces to see as well. If you have time to take a day trip you can visit the ancient city of Gerace. You definitely need to have stamina to walk up the mountain. The locals there seem to live in an ancient time. Go to the store and have some Bergamot liquor..It's yummy. Somedays it's nice to just walk around and see the sights.
Very nice town plenty to do and see with restaurants and bars within walking distance It was buzzing g at night with a good atmosphere The national museum and cathedral well worth visiting. Plenty of places to shop if this is your thing.Easy if you want to hop on a ferry and visit Scilly across the straights.
A very hip area with tons and tons of shopping. Most shops small but literally miles(plural) of them. Food choices abound Beaches clean and mature. A very clean bright city with a vibe. Temperature is very moderate but if no clouds it does get hot. Roads are very tight. Good police presence everywhere we went. Just there, not hassling folks. Almost zero “street people”.
This hotel is located close to the train station and offers a good breakfast. The walk to city center is short but there isn't much there. Reggio is a one night layover to use the airport or train service.
Awful place, the buildings and streets were neglected and in need of repair, there was rubbish everywhere. Few places found to eat. There was nowhere pleasant to walk and nothing of interest to visit. It was difficult to see beyond the dirt, rubbish, filth and disrepair.
What a beautiful town with some lovely restaurants and the Main Street closed to traffic was a bonus. Some fabulous shops to browse through and the beach walk was lovely. A must see is the bronze statues at the museum - the whole museum was fabulous
