Catania (0.1 miles from Catania Fontanarossa Airport)
Set in Catania, 2.3 km from Lido Arcobaleno, Fontanarossa Airport Sleep and Travel offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and express check-in and check-out. Stayed the night before a 6am flight so I chose it for the location. Federica and Martina were wonderful hosts and very helpful. Airport is a short walk but we didn’t want to walk with all our luggage at 4am, so they organized an early morning shuttle for us - we hitch came right on time. The studio apt is clean and cute. The apt is behind a wood gate, but because it’s located on the main road into the airport, there is a bit of traffic noise at night—but not too bad. If you need a place to stay close to the airport, I highly recommend it.

Located in Catania and only 1.9 km from Lido Arcobaleno, Diletta house provides accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. Great location. Close to airport and buses going to pretty much all towns in Sicily. Really clean and aesthetic, even more so considering Sicilian standards. Friendly host. Funny location (it's a little home next to a home of an actual Italian family). Rather clean, calm and safe neighbourhood (compared to the rest of Catania). Dilleta itself was also spacious, modern, had bedroom, bathroom and big living room mixed with kitchen. There was also no cockroaches, bedbugs and other insects (unlike in other accomodations in Catania). Really - it's all you need for a few days trip. Definitely worth the price too. Oh and the bed - holy crap. I've never slept in a more comfortable bed. There's also high quality AC in bedroom.

Set in Catania, the recently renovated Prince Airport House features accommodation 1.9 km from Lido Arcobaleno and 6.4 km from Catania Piazza Duomo. I had been deserted by so called friends in a city and left by myself. I booked this and the lady was in touch to arrange a time. She was on hand the whole time even though she had no idea of my story, she was a friendly welcoming lady and I'm grateful I came here for the night. It was immaculately clean, welcoming and the extra touches like a coffee machine with supplies and cakes. Absolutely excellent. The air conditioning was a god send as I had been camping all week. Everything is thought about and the price is excellent. Thank you for a great stay x

Le Dune Sicily Hotel is only 2 km away from the city centre of Catania. It lies in an enchanting place between the golden sand of "de La Plaia" beach and a beautiful small Maritime pine forest. The hotel was amazing — super clean, cozy, and had a beautiful view.
Loved everything about Catania, very beautiful part of Sicily, would 100% recommend, visiting mount etna is a must. It’s breathtaking. Maravigghia gelato is amazing, mm! Street food does great fish meals and La Locanda di Luciano is a must visit the food is delicious and portion size was big, great value for money.
If you have not been to Catania before, you might be a bit taken aback by the run-down look of the city as there is plenty of graffiti on the walls. However, once you get past this, you'll find that the city has ALOT to offer. Beautiful buildings, fantastic history, buildings and architecture. Wonderful food and food markets, interesting art. Even some of the graffiti looked cool. It doesn't make a great first impression but it definitely grows on you. A tip - if you're on a budget and want to buy some mementos to take home, don't buy at the 'first' place you get to - stroll around the city streets and compare prices. Some places charge alot less for same items than others, and the tourist items in the city shops and markets cost alot less than at the airport.
We didn't expect to spend any time here but ended up having more than we planned. The food was surprisingly great and the atmosphere, though filled with tourists, was still fun! The ruins are a must see!
First visit. Will be returning for longer at the end of our trip. Vibrant Catania very quirky, which I like, people, polite, friendly and want to help, food lovely. Which was refreshing as our years spent in Spain(Costa del Sol) on holidays we have experienced a change no longer the friendliest and the food served no longer the best.
A great city with lots to do. It’s a bit gritty but full of life and the food is amazing. A good place to base yourself if you’re visiting Mount Etna or travelling to other parts of Eastern Sicily on public transport.
We are so glad we visited Catania. There are many residential areas right in the city centre. The Baroque architecture is wonderful. We had a day exploring on our own, before we joined a guided walking tour, which was excellent and so informative. We visited some nice restaurants and shops. We walked everywhere, so easy.
