That's a wonderful thing because it means that the hotel is connected to the place in which it is situated and Iona is a very special place. The Staff are sound, the food was great and the location is wonderful. The three of us travelled by bicycle from Oban. We will be back for sure. Go raibh maith agaibh go léir.

On arrival in Iona, we were met from the ferry by our lovely hosts Jamie and his mother Kate. They could not have been more welcoming, driving us to the lovely Machair House, their tranquilly situated family home at the back of the island, surrounded by sheep and lambs grazing happily against the backdrop of the flower strewn Machair and the lulling waves of The Bay at the Back of the Ocean. Machair House is as warm and welcoming as its hosts, with a splendid sunroom, relaxing sitting room, very comfortable bedrooms, and well-equipped kitchen. I happened to be celebrating a special birthday during my stay on Iona, and our hosts made it even more special by providing a huge birthday balloon and a bottle of fizz! We spent two wonderful weeks in Iona staying at Machair House.How perfect, after a day-out exploring the island, to return to this cosy and much-loved haven.

Justo enfrente del B&B está el restaurante y pudimos saborear unos deliciosos mejillones y fish and chips. Volvería sin dudarlo.

It is so well cared for and homely with everything you could need for easy self catering. Comfortable beds and hot showers- unfortunately we didn’t need to use the wood burner!
