Don't trust Google Maps or Apple Maps: the hotel is 300 meters straight from the port; I was on a bike and had to do the mountain grand prix twice (there and back) because the GPS sends you to the other side of the island, to The Colonsay Apartments, even if it is indicated as The Colonsay Hotel. The photo is what the GPS says, but the hotel is close to the start.

The Cabin had everything we needed and the location was amazing. The owners were friendly & we loved the free-range animals. We didn't want to leave and will return! Our spaniel loved it too. There was a small fenced area outside which was fine for him & then miles of open spaces for him to run on.

Wonderful, characterful accommodation in a magnificent setting between the mountains and the sea. We had a great time cycling up the Long Road to Barnhill, strenuous but worth it.
