Our experience at Fra i Sassi was absolutely unforgettable. Our room was beautiful and full of character — the bathroom was set directly in the cave, which gave it such a unique and authentic touch. One of the highlights was definitely the view: right from our window we had a breathtaking panorama of Matera, perfect at any time of day. The location couldn’t have been better. We had no issues at all with our luggage, and the direct shuttle to the hotel made arrival super easy. Once there, we were within walking distance of everything — it’s perfectly situated to explore the Sassi and the historic center. What really made the difference was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was incredibly kind and helpful. They gave us excellent recommendations for food and activities, helped with reservations, and made us feel completely at home. A big plus for us: we were traveling with our dog and everything went smoothly. And breakfast? Just as amazing as everything else — fresh, local, and delicious. Highly recommend staying here if you want the full Matera experience with comfort, charm, and warm hospitality

Featuring a bar, Vetera Matera is located in Matera in the Basilicata region, 500 metres from Palombaro Lungo and 300 metres from Matera Cathedral. OMG this place!!!!! What to say it was all what i was dreaming about when I come to see Matera for the first time. Amazing staff, guys people working there made our stay feeling like HOME. Everything was amazing from pick up, to room, to breakfast, spa. i mean it is worth every euro

Spazio Gagarin Residence is situated in Matera, 1.3 km from Casa Grotta nei Sassi and less than 1 km from Tramontano Castle. This 3-star hotel offers a concierge service and luggage storage space. Newly built only two years ago, beautifully furnished, it looks like a new, modern hotel, just smaller. Our double room was spacious, with a large bathroom and pretty patio (we were on the ground floor). Staff, Pietro and Illaria were very helpful. Parking on the premises was very convenient at 15euro per day (although the parking space was not guaranteed as there are more rooms than parking spaces). Excellent location, no more than 500 meters to the old city walls, a market, cafes and restaurants.

Lovely property, host was very friendly and the breakfast was amazing. Would recommend staying, very reasonably priced

Situated in Atella and with National Archaeological Museum reachable within 39 km, Palazzo Badiale history&rooms features express check-in and check-out, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi... Great room in a lovely house. Breakfast was served in a bakery 50m from the hotel. Great and generous breakfast. The staff was great and helpful. One of the best hotels in this Italy trip. I would stay there again.

LITHOS ROOMs, a property with a shared lounge, is set in Matera, 1.1 km from Matera Cathedral, less than 1 km from MUSMA Museum, as well as a 15-minute walk from Tramontano Castle. The staff at LITHOS is great! They were able to accommodate early check-in and late check-out for us. The parking abundant, both free (on the street) and paid (they have a garage). The rooms are brand new, a short walk to the best things to see in Matera. Amazing stay!

Property was extremely clean and beautifully restored. Staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and helped with suggestions for dinner and hiking options in the park.
