With a dome reminiscent of Brunelleschi’s "The Duomo" in Florence, the Hungarian parliament building is undoubtedly the icon of Budapest. It sits majestically by the Danube, the river that both divides and unifies the 2 parts of this capital city: Buda and Pest.
Overseeing Budapest from its vantage point on Castle Hill is Buda Castle. Spectacularly lit at night, it offers the best views across this attractive city steeped in World Heritage. Some unique points of interest are Heroes Square and the Museum of Terror, reminders of the city’s more turbulent past.
Much like in Vienna further up the Danube, coffee and cake is practically an institution in Budapest. And there’s nowhere better to try this than Gerbeaud - the elaborate décor alone makes this café well worth a visit.
To really feel like a local, make a trip to the thermal baths. The relaxed Gellért Baths are a triumph of Art Nouveau grandeur, while based on their sheer size, you can't miss the outdoor Széchenyi Baths. If unusual nightlife is your thing, the club nights at these baths are great fun.
With an impressive range of Budapest hotels, apartments and hostels on offer in this city of 2 halves, Booking.com makes your choice completely easy.

Budapest is beautiful and filled with enchanting buildings and structures. Great for those who enjoy walking and taking lovely pictures of historical structures. Best to start early in the morning if prefer to take good pictures as places get crowded with tourists after 10 am.
My experience is that Budapest is that car drivers are inpatient (including taxi drivers, zooming in and out of traffic congestion). Service staff in supermarket are not friendly and also inpatient when comes to payment.
Lastly, I feel that everything is expensive in Budapest, in comparison to Poland.

Beautiful city but not tourist welcoming.
Beautiful city but not tourist welcoming. They are very rude specially the women. No Patience, roll their eyes when you are counting coins or did not understand. The city is beautiful but expect a poor customer service and no kindness at all.

Went for the Dimash concert and it was awesome.
Went for the Dimash concert and it was awesome. The Papp Laszlo Arena was easy to get to and from due to the excellent public transport system. Lots of trees/shade in the city on hot days, plenty of cafe's/restaurants/bars to cater to all price brackets. Particularly enjoyed the dancing fountains on Margaret Island; the House of Music Hungary in City Park an exhibition space and open air theatre combined was one of the highlights of my trip, the permanent exhibition was fantastic. Plenty for history buffs but close to beautiful Buda hills for those who like to walk/hike. Nagycsarnok Market (nr Liberty Bridge) worth a visit. Best to book ahead if you want tours in a specific language, to save a wasted journey, especially in high season.
I hope I have an opportunity to return to this beautiful city, and spend more time with it's citizens, despite my very limited Hungarian vocabulary.

If you're staying longer than 72 hours, just take the 15 days-card via the Budapest Go app. It's just as expensive (cheap) as 72 hours card. So for 15 euro's you're covered for all public transport!

Easy to get around on public transport as well as by taxi. Felt safe walking about - even at night
Didnt like the fact that service charge between 11-15% automatically added to your dining bill - I prefer to tip according to service received
I had a wonderfull time in Budapest, and I stayed at the Silver Hotel. It located in the city centre so you can reach any kind of facilitie that you need, there is unlimited oportunity if you stay here. The breakfast is really decent. The employes are really kind and helpfull, there are many services you can have here. The rooms are perfect, they are clean and the beds are really comfortable also there's a good view from there. Also ther price really convenient, I can recommend this hotel to anyone.
The location is absolutely perfect. The view from our corner suite was magical. The hotel itself is a piece of artwork. The room was beautiful, spacious and perfectly cleaned. Staff surprised us on my daughter’s birthday with a piece of delicious birthday cake and a Happy Birthday letter and fruit. I didn’t tell them it was her birthday so they must have taken notice when we checked in. Safe, classy and completely comfortable! Best place to stay in Budapest!!!
This small apartment has everything you need for your stay in Budapest. The location is great with busses conneiing to the city centre just a short walk away. One of the best public baths with thermal springs is also really close. The apartment itself is super clean and the bed is very comfy. Check-in and out is super easy. The host is super nice, arranged for an early check-in and was overall super friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend!
A four-star hotel, in the center of Budapest and near one of the city's central train stations and close to one of the city's main arteries. Very kind staff at the reception, cleaning staff attentive to our needs, generous rooms and a superlative breakfast. Everything fully reflects the description on the website and I had no disappointment when I got there. A good choice for all those who want to visit Budapest!
Everything was amazing at Carat Butique Hotel. Rooms were very clean, breakfast was amazing and best thing was that the staff was very friendly even tho our group was little bit loud sometimes. I would recommend this hotel to everybody who would like to visit Budapest. Location was outstanding, you just come downstairs and you are in the city centre. Thank you guys
The hotel is in a very handy location for the main areas of Budapest - very close to the Castle area and just across Elizabeth Bridge to the city centre. The hotel is very quiet and also close to many parts of the (very efficient) transport network, with tram and bus stops only a few minutes' walk away. Breakfast was good and set us up well for the day!
This is excellent hotel to stay in Budapest. You could reach it by metro from the airport. Also tram line 2 and metro stations are very close, if you would like to reach the city center. In case we want to walk, it is 30 min.
24/7 reception, excellent breakfast, clean rooms, storage for suitcases if you have a late flight are also to be praised.
The hotel was roughly a 7minute walk going to the city centre, the room is very eco-friendly and classy and the intercontinental breakfast was good! I'm very satisfied with the single room I had as a solo traveller.

Very nice room, styling was amazing. Great bed, amazing shower! Close to city centre, we walked everywhere but the Metro and Busstation is very close. Would definitely come back to Budapest and book this hotel again!
A big plus was the underground parking. Felt very safe.
Great position in the city centre to visit all Budapest best sights. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Nice bar/restaurant within the hotel and they offer you a free cocktail/beer on arrival. Staff was kind and helpful. Good WiFi connection in the hotel.
This small and cosy little hotel is perfectly located in Budapest city centre. Room was equipped very well, including an espresso machine and a washing machine. Although the price for my stay was very low, it even included a nice breakfast.
It's a great hotel if you are coming to Budapest by car since it has ample parking space, and if you plan on driving to the city centre. It's a clean, comfortable hotel at a good price.
Very good hotel in the great area. The best receptionist is Angelina. We loved it, so if we will be in Budapest for one more time, we will definitly stay in this house again.
Clean rooms, very nice staff, perfect location in center of Budapest. Parking was very close, 10.000 ft per day, 150 m from hotel.
Breakfast was very good.
